Turnbull Studios
Steve and Christine Turnbull - Sculptors

Steve creates his work in wood, stone and bronze.
Christine sculpts her originals from clay, then casts in bronze.

Steve Turnbull's flowing, graceful lines in his abstract sculpture always invites the touch. Sometimes he suggests a form in the medium, whether it be a female figure, the flow of the ocean, or the flight of an eagle. The exotic wood of the hawaiian islands is a true compliment to his work.

Christine Turnbull creates her realistic sculpture in clay, then casts in bronze. Children's portraits are her specialty. Christine's goal is to "capture the moment" so one will have the memory of time forever.

Enjoy a spectacular drive with breathtaking views. Come meet and see the artists in action. Walk through the sculpture garden and studio. See work in progress and enjoy pupus and refreshments. This is a place not to miss and one you will always remember.

Caroline Killhour
Painter, Printer, Designer
Oil, acrylic, and gouache paintings and woodut prints

Caroline's artwork demonstrates spatial depth juxtaposed with decorative, colorful surfaces and patterns. She employs diagonals and jolting shifts of perspective in order to establish spatial angles of vision similar to those used in Japanese prints. This work reflects her 25 years of textile, apparel and footwear design.

Caroline will have paintings and prints available. Caroline's work exhibits a decorative flatness that attracts the viewer's eye to the surface of the work. These opposing elements combine to invite the viewer to linger on the surface, focusing on the two-dimensional and ornamental qualities of her creation before observing the other three-dimensional aspects.

Jordanne
Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic with Mixed Media

Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic with Mixed Media and Gold Leaf

I work with oils, watercolors and Acrylic with Mixed Media and Gold Leaf mostly on location. Besides landscapes, I have created a signature gold-leaf pineapple painting that is creating a universal connection of aloha, welcome, love and hospitality. I paint with an expressionistic and impressionistic reaction to what I see and feel when looking at the subject. Both a plein air artist and a studio artist, I create paintings of changing history and everyday life to create a captured moment.

A fun event that will consist of a painting demonstration, good conversation and pupus. The Gallery is filled with paintings, prints and Giclees and is a great experience to see how one woman sees Maui from the beaches, mountains, plantation homes, tropical arrangements and upcountry vistas!

I've been painting on fabric in the watercolor style for over thirty years. When paint is thinned to a perfect consistency for fabric it becomes part of the piece so soft and beautiful to touch. I have used acrylics to paint t-shirts but never on canvas. Now I'm approaching the blank white canvas. I look forward to doing portraits of Hawaiian women and relaxing Scenes of daily life on Maui...

Come to my studio up-country Maui and have glass of lilikoi iced (passiofruit tea). I'll be doing demos of painting on tees and have a wide selection of original one of a kind pieces. There will be canvases, watercolors, prints, hand-made cards and my DVDs of Easy Painting on Tees for sale.

Mainly 2D: several styles including, abstract, surreal, impressionistic, whimsical
Oil, acrylic and mixed media

A response to living from one grain of sand in the Universe. Life is beautiful, painful, bewildering and funny. Humans are complicated and moody. You will find that my art seemingly has several styles, as if different artists have created it. This is the result of reaching inside one human and expressing each inspiration or life response as the stars indicate at that moment.

When I hit it, it strikes a chord that communicates with the viewer. This might be a mystical experience, a fleeting moment of piercing beauty or even a joke.

This is a down-and-dirty working artist\'s studio. We will tidy up a bit and have some pupus, music and hula-hooping, but the main thing you will bw seeing is art and projects everywhere: on the easels, on the racks, on the tables and the floor, spilling out into the rest of the property, including the bathroom. Since I share my studio, you will also see my husband\'s art, as well as pieces that we\'ve collected from other artists.

I started shooting photography 28 years ago, and became fascinated with underwater photography after I started diving. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by the late, great Jim Church, and Stan Waterman. My underwater adventures took me to Micronesia, Fiji and throughout Hawaii. I also developed an interest in Basketry, and Woodworking, after seeing the beautiful baskets and bowls made from local plant fibers and local exotic hardwoods.
